Quality and NDT Solutions, LLC (QNS) delivers quick and affordable support, services and solutions to multiple industries, including Aerospace, Petrochemical, Power Generation.   QNS provides a variety of Nondestructive Testing and Evaluation (NDT/NDE) services, including Eddy Current (EC) and Advanced EC inspections, training and support.

Advanced Eddy Current Methods and Applications

Advances in technology have led to extremely reliable advanced eddy current methods and techniques.  While the equipment is quite expensive and advanced training is required, it brings along a high degree of automation and probability of defect detection.

Remote Field Testing (RFT, RFET)

Remote Field Testing is a through transmission eddy current technique for testing of ferromagnetic tubes.  Separate transmitting and receiving coils are housed inside rigid or flexible probe housings.

RFT is sensitive to ID and OD tube defects and Detects and characterizes corrosion, erosion, pitting, cracking and other defects.  Prevention of potentially catastrophic tube failures and minimization of downtime in boiler tubes and heat exchangers.

Specialized software performs defect characterization, reduces operator interaction and errors, and reduces inspection time.

 Eddy Current Array (ECA)

Eddy Current Array’s utilize an array of eddy current coils inside a single probe and advanced software for signal analysis.  Signals can be multiplexed and plotted using a 3D representation and C-scan imaging.   ECA has tremendous advantages over traditional eddy current testing, such as high sensitivity, high resolution and probability of detection, along with a wider inspection coverage area and faster inspections.  Flexible ECA probes are available to rapidly fit to various test object configurations and contours.

 Pulsed Eddy Current (PEC)

Pulsed Eddy Current is an electromagnetic inspection technique used to detect wall thickness loss in ferromagnetic materials. Applications include testing for corrosion under insulation (CUI)and corrosion under fireproofing (CUF), and wall loss under concrete.
